Dame Sally is a romantic novelist (clearly based on Dame Barbara Cartland) who likes nothing better than lounging on her couch, eating truffles, while her aide, Miss Grace, types up her dictation.
Unfortunately, Dame Sally's novels often fall far short of the required length, so normally end with, "blah blah blah", the entire Bible being read aloud by one character, or with whatever is on the radio at the time.
She is an obvious spoof on Barbara Cartland in that she wears bright pink clothes. Also, David Walliams and Matt Lucas admitted they based the sketches on a TV clip in which Barbara Cartland was dictating to her secretary and asking, "How many pages?"
Catchphrase: "How many pages?"
